BCHS Reads

Welcome to the blog for students and staff of Barrhead Composite High School.  The purpose of this blog is to share the books you love to read. A good book can be hard to find, so with a little luck, you will find great suggestions here.

To Do:

  • Use your real name (first only).
  • Give the title and author of the book you are writing about.
  • In a few sentences, tell a little bit about your book- just enough to let a reader make a decision about reading.
  • Do NOT give away the ending!
  • In a sentence or two explain why you like this book.
  • Make a recommendation.

Visit often to make recommendations and to find suggestions.

  1. "The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Hood is told through the point of view of two characters: Sarah Grimke and Hettie "Handful" Grimke. Sarah is born into a wealthy southern US family in the 1700s. Handful is the young Negro slave given to Sarah on Sarah's 11th birthday. If you have read "The Help" or seen the movie "Lee Daniels' The Butler" you will like this novel.
